Bass Museum of Art

The Bass Museum of Art, founded in 1964 by John and Johanna Bass, is located in Miami Beach, Florida. It began with the donation of the Bass’ personal collection of Renaissance and Baroque works. The museum focuses on contemporary art, featuring a diverse range of exhibitions and educational programs. Its collection includes works by artists such as Botticelli, Rubens and contemporary artists like Ugo Rondinone. The Bass is known for its dynamic programming and commitment to engaging the community with art and culture. Read more about Museums.

A gallery with multiple large-scale projections showing animated scenes from Lawrence Lek’s NOX series. In the center sits a modular concrete-like pavilion of tiled benches and vertical supports, lit from below with warm LEDs that accent the structure.

Left image: A woman wearing a red floral dress embraces a younger girl in a matching dress, their faces pressed closely together in an intimate, almost mirrored pose. Right image: A shirtless woman sits with her eyes closed as a smiling child covers her eyes with both hands from behind, creating a tender and slightly uncanny moment.
